Restaurant

There are no shortages of places to dine and drink in Hollywood, but The Abbey in WeHo might just be one of the best around. Twice named the best gay bar in the world by MTV LOGO, the place serves up some stiff beats while also doubling as a hip breakfast joint each morning.

I only stopped by at night when they were ready to close, but the place was crawling with people to the point where groups had begun assembling outside due to lack of space. People certainly looked liked they were having a good time.
As the locals will tell you, though, the true charm of this place comes from the food. My friends and I stopped by during the day to sample their breakfast options and none of us left disappointed. The buttermilk pancakes with a mound of brown butter whipped cream were shared among everyone and reordered twice because we couldn’t get enough.

I was also a big fan of their huckleberry waffles doused in huckleberry jam and more of the brown butter whipped cream. Most surprisingly delicious, though, was their generous and mouth-watering offering of mocha latte coffee. It was, hands down, the best coffee I’ve tasted in my life.

The restaurant is incredibly large and brunch is typically served outside in the patio area, which is great since it’s beautiful nearly every day in SoCal. Once you’re done eating, be sure to stop by their little bakery on site to grab an extra treat before you go.

The only downside of this place is that the service can be ridiculously slow. Especially when the place gets busy, which is pretty much all the time.
