The Dolomites are a beautiful, rugged mountain range in the northernmost part of Italy. With elevations reaching more than10,000 feet, and 18 snow-covered peak,s the Dolomites are a dream adventure resort location for all outdoor activities. This may be a prime resort location for skiers and snowboarders, but with just as much beauty and activities in the spring and summer, any tourist would find this place to be on the top must-see list.
Beyond just snow sport activities, there are also so many amazing hiking and canoeing opportunities available for tourists to explore. For starters, some of the most amazing landscape regions to see are in South Tyrol. This oil painting of a location seems more like the set of The Sound of Music than a village in Italy. The view of the entire town lit up at night and the open sky will be one for the books.
Hotel Pragser Wildsee is located right on the lake of Braies and offers amazing views of the Dolomites from below and amazing wilderness surrounding. Lake Braies is a truly beautiful stop on a trip to the Dolomites and a must see when in northern Italy.
Monte Cristallo offers a terrifyingly amazing bridge between Dolomite mountain peaks with a clear view for miles around.
For some fresh water swimming in the spring and summer months, Cerdevol offers crystal-blue waterfalls and pools. The Arzino river’s white rocks, gorges and lush forest are like another world and definitely a must see.
Once off of the Dolomite resort locations, there is so much wild, inhabited and untouched nature to see. Most sites are just a little off the beaten path, so be sure to speak with the locals or confer with an experienced traveler first.
