Allianz Partners recently revealed the results of its annual Top 10 Summer European Destinations review. Americans are ready to travel to Europe, with a 55 percent increase summer 2023 over summer 2022.
The study reviewed flight itineraries for trips of five–eight days between Memorial Day and Labor Day. London, England, came in the top spot with 25 percent of this year’s bookings. London, England; Paris, France; and Dublin, Ireland, held the top three spots in 2022, as well. Milan, Italy, made it to the No. 10 spot, marking its first appearance in the top 10 since the survey began in 2015. This marks the first year Barcelona, Spain, has not appeared in the top 10. The survey found 80 percent of Americans will spend seven days away on vacation.
The top 10 summer European destinations of 2023 are:
- London, England
- Paris, France
- Dublin, Ireland
- Rome, Italy
- Reykjavik, Iceland
- Edinburgh, Scotland
- Athens, Greece
- Amsterdam, Netherlands
- Lisbon, Portugal
- Milan, Italy
“Last year, we saw a major increase in American travel to Europe and this summer indicates even higher demand, so it’s more important than ever to plan for a busy summer travel season,” said Daniel Durazo, director of external communications, Allianz Partners USA.
