It’s not uncommon to find unique or creative butler roles at top hotels around the world. From bath butlers to fragrance butlers to bonfire butlers, luxury hotels cater to guests’ whims with service that goes above and beyond — and, now, one French Riviera hotel offers a water ski butler.

Hôtel Belles Rives is a historic Art Deco hotel that has long been a favorite summertime destination, and water skiing has likewise long been a favorite summertime activity on the nearby waters. However, for those who need a little extra help with the experience, the hotel’s water ski butler delivers.
The water ski butler helps water skiers of all skill levels prepare for the activity, from suiting up to stretching to enhancing their skills.

“Water [skiing] is part of the hotel’s DNA,” explained François Gelly, director of sales and marketing, Belles Rives Group, Hôtel Belles Rives’s parent company. “More and more clients are coming to water ski, including clients who are not staying at the hotel. Last year, we celebrated 100 years of summer tourism … so it was a natural transition to offer the water ski butler this summer.”
For travelers who would prefer to watch water skiing versus participating, they’ll enjoy the hotel’s beach club and private beach, as well as private boat dock.

Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
