Variety Cruises calls itself the cruise company for non-cruisers. The small-ship cruise line caters to travelers in numbers of just a few dozen at a time, taking them on voyages to luxurious destinations such as Tahiti, West Africa, Egypt and Israel.
New for 2023, the cruise line offers itineraries to Tahiti, with stops on the island of Makatea, making it the only cruise line to offer this. The cruise line also expands its limited-edition cruises to include experiences themed around the culinary arts of the Seychelles and wine and hiking in Greece.
However, beyond the intimate experiences and destinations you might not be able to reach on a mega-ship, Variety Cruises also sets itself apart in another way: through environmental sustainability and philanthropy. The cruise line aims to achieve carbon neutrality in the near future, as it develops a 60-boat fleet accounting for 1 percent of the world’s cruise market by 2050. Variety is also the first cruise line worldwide to join Tourism Declares Climate Emergency. Meanwhile, the cruise line’s philanthropic leg focuses on clean oceans, gender equality and education.
