Morning Essential Prep

Setting up your work bag, gym bag, etc., before going to bed can ease stress in the morning. Making sure you have everything you need prepared for the next day the night before can cut time in the morning. Just grab your bags, travel mug, other essentials and go.

Coffee Prep

For caffeine drinkers, morning coffee is a key part in waking up. Set up your coffeemaker with water and ground coffee the night before. This will allow early-risers to just hit one button for morning coffee or wake up to a time-brewed pot. Iced coffee drinkers can save the brew in the refrigerator overnight and cut even more time the next morning.

Going to Sleep

An essential of waking up early and becoming a morning person is the night’s sleep before. Putting away technology before bed is essential. The light of your phone, computer or tablet sets off your rest cycle and will seriously delay the time it takes for you to fall asleep.

Alarms

Setting an alarm or two will not only wake you up, but will assist in setting up an internal clock that will help your body ease you out of bed early each morning. By keeping a consistent alarm, waking up each morning at an early hour will become a habit and easier each day.

Rise and Shine

Whether jumping out of bed and throwing the blinds open for the light or hitting the pavement early for a workout, getting up and moving can be the most effective way to wake up. The quick movements will wake your whole body up and stave off lying in bed longer and subsequently lagging throughout the day. Having a group class to get to early in the morning is great motivation to get up and out, early and quickly.
