Trends / Unique Itineraries & Tours

Tour company Travel Vision Journeys offers photo tours led by expert photographers. Guests improve and expand their photography skills while learning about the destination.

“I have seen a significant increase in travelers who are interested in photography as quality equipment has become more affordable and social media has become more prevalent,” said Lauren Hefferon, founder, Travel Visions Journeys. “Unlike most travel options, photography tours allow for a slow, deep dive into the spirit of a place. It expands the sensory experience as guests move more leisurely, but with greater intimacy and intensity — I call it mindful travel.”

Travel Vision Journeys currently offers seven different tours, with varied duration and departure dates through 2017. The Argentina Vision & Vine Photo Tour explores the high-altitude wine regions of northwest Argentina. Pricing starts at $5,400 for the nine-day tour. The Brazil: Pantanal Wildlife Photo Tour delves into UNESCO World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve, Pantanal. The nine-day tour starts at $6,990. The Best of Patagonia Photo Tour takes guests through Patagonia and Torres del Paine National Park. The 10-day tour costs $7,500. Ecuador: Galapagos Magic introduces guests to unique local wildlife. There are nine- or 10-day options starting at $6,500. Argentina: Wetlands, Wildlife & Waterfalls is an exclusive safari through northeast Argentina. Pricing starts at $4,900 for the eight-day tour.
