In the heart of Mexico City lies a modern and boutique hotel setting a new standard in upscale and contemporary hospitality. Umbral Hotel, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, combines the best across food and beverage, art, architecture and more for a unique stay.

The 59-room hotel includes 12 suites, each featuring a sofa bed and vinyl record player. In addition to spacious accommodations, Umbral Hotel elevates itself in the world of art with not one but two on-site art galleries. Galeria 69 and Galeria Umbral highlight the best up-and-coming artists of Latin America, with works by Danilo Cuadros, Sofía Castellanos and Said Dokins.
Umbral Hotel also boasts eight on-site dining outlets, allowing guests to enjoy signature cocktails and world-renowned cuisine from head chef Daniel Ovdia. The hotel’s premier restaurant, Paxia, draws inspiration from traditional Mexican street food culture, adding an elevated flair.

The hotel’s signature design is unique, to say the least. Umbral, meaning threshold, is the leading concept and driving force behind the property’s interior designs. Every space transitions from dark to light, in which darkness works as a buffer before unveiling its light source, bringing guests on a special journey. These transitions appear in the rooms, dining areas and even hallways, making it an ever-present concept integral to the base of the hotel.
On top of these top-notch amenities and features, Umbral Hotel also sits in the center of Mexico City. Situated in a historic building dating back to 1924, the avant-garde exterior serves as a reminder of the property’s history.
In addition to accommodations, galleries, restaurants and creative interior designs, Umbral also includes a pool, Jacuzzi, fully equipped gym, hanging garden, mini movie theater, library and vinyl record collection.

Yesterday, TSA began enforcing new identification guidelines, a change that’s been a long-time coming. Now, travelers must show a REAL ID-compliant, state-issued ID in order to fly on domestic flights, in lieu of a non-compliant driver’s license (some other forms of identification, such as passports, will still be acceptable).
