Head to Saade Kahvalti Café to enjoy your first meal of the day. Order the sahanda sucuk and an espresso to stay. Take in the environment while enjoying your meal. (Sahanda sucuk is Turkish salami with egg and pita bread.)
Walk over to the Sultanahmet Square to take in the beautiful garden. Walk to the Blue Mosque to experience the site ($13). It is still a functioning mosque, so it closes five times per day during prayer time.
When you leave the Blue Mosque, walk directly across to the Hagia Sophia to observe the architectural design of the building. It was once a cathedral turned mosque, and now a museum.
Next stop is the Kybele Restaurant Cafe attached to a hotel on a street with beautifully multicolored buildings. Order the chicken shish and fresh orange juice (chicken shish kebab with roasted tomatoes, pita, brown rice and vegetables, $11). Sit and observe the Turks as they go about their day.
Your next stop is the world-famous Grand Bazaar. You should spend two hours here while browsing the many vendor stalls and seeing how the Turks come alive when they talk about their products.
While exploring the grand market, you may come across street food, such as roasted corn or a chicken sandwich, you may want to try ($2).
Walk to the Spice Bazaar and delight in the smell of the market from the mixture of teas, spices and Turkish delight available to you.
After exploring, make your way to the Cicek Pasaji and take a seat at Tarihi Haocapasa Lokantalari. Order the hummus, pita and your choice of beef kebab ($9). Walk to the Galata Bridge and indulge in the beautiful sunset on the water.
