Under $100 / North America

Los Angeles is a sunny city with beautiful beaches. One could argue L.A. is the “New York of the West,” as the city is culturally diverse and has a strong financial and cultural influence on the country as a whole. It is also a much-sought-after destination among travelers for its beaches and the fame associated with the city.

Here is how you can enjoy Los Angeles on a $100 budget:

Start your morning at Runyon Canyon by going for a walk, hike or partaking in a free yoga class.

Following your run, head to Umami Burger at The Grove for brunch. Order your choice of burger, fries and juice; the Cali burger is a great option with sweet potato fries. This should cost no more than $23.

Walk to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art to enjoy the work of local and well-known artists. If you are lucky enough to attend on a day when there is a concert or film series, be sure to jump at the opportunity. ($15)

Hollywood Wax Museum is your next destination ($20). You will find yourself among wax figures of some of the world’s greatest stars, from musical artists to actors.

Next, find a Starbucks on Hollywood Boulevard and get a drink before continuing your journey ($5). Explore the Hollywood Walk of Fame and find your favorite celebrity’s star, then head to Sunset Boulevard to people watch.

The Santa Monica Pier is your final destination for the day. Here, you find Mariasol, where you’ll have dinner on the pier. Order your choice of taco, burrito or favorite Mexican food and enjoy the sun as it sets. If you desire, you can head to the beach and dip your toes in the water for good measure.
