In the heart of a wildly whimsical boardwalk on Venice Beach filled with art, entertainment, bike rides along the beach and panoramic ocean views, is a little gem called Venice Ale House. If you’re into craft beer and organic food, you’ve found the right place.
Owners Tom and Spoon — two friends who were looking for a place in Venice with a great craft beer selection and all organic, healthy food— started Venice Ale House. They couldn’t find one, so they started their own. Tom, being from Colorado, had a bud for microbreweries and Spoon hails from the family that created Kona Brewing in Hawai’i.
Together they created a craft brew haven right on the water. There are more than 20 craft beers regularly on tap and a rotational list of about eight different beers to keep the taste buds fresh. If you can’t pick just one you can get a tasting of four to eight different beers that will be served to you on a skateboard with holes cut out for the glasses.
The bar inside is on the smaller end, but the outdoor patio is where you’ll want to sit to watch gorgeous views of the sunset or be entertained by the endless street performers constantly shuffling through.
Serving an entirely organic menu of a variety of foods ranging from American to Mexican to Southeast Asian, it’s hard to go wrong with any choice. Though lamb burger might be the hardest to avoid served with sweet potato “un-fries.” The Ale House kitchen also does not fry any food.
It comes strongly recommended even from various celebrities in the area known as regulars. Stop in and sip a cold one on an always-warm day in LA.
