For those who don’t already have flowers or a color scheme in mind, choosing flowers that are in season can help keep the budget down.

January offers a variety of pink-hued flowers from the gerbera, the rose, snap dragon, dahlia, delphinium, ranunculus and tulips. February weddings would do well with white hydrangea, calla lily, larkspur, magnolia, lisianthus and lillium Casablanca.

March flowers pack more of a punch with deep hues of blue, purple and lighter shades of lilac. Freesia flowers are in bloom along with cornflower, iris and the blue hydrangea. Many of the flowers from January and February are still in season. so there are many pairing opportunities.

April flowers mix up the color scheme with light and bright yellow and orange. The orchid will be in bloom along with sunflower, peonies and alstromeria in addition to some of the longer lasting winter flowers like the tulip, ranunculus and gerbera.

May, June, July and August are prime time for most flowers like lisianthus, lillum stargazer, peonies, gerbera, roses, lily, daffodil, orchids, snap dragon, sunflower, zinnia, carnation, gladiola, dahlia and chrysanthemum. Couples getting married in the summer can basically take their pick.

September, hyacinths are in bloom as well as the purple freesia, iris, orchid and snapdragon. While October has lily of the valley popping up and Queen Anne’s lace, November adds the stock flower, pink dahlia and hydrangea.

December has many options from evergreens, juniper, holly and poinsettias for a natural, rustic feel, in addition to a beautiful array of anemone, disbud, poppy, stephanotis and gardenia.

Most of the flowers listed can be found in a variety of colors and for months longer than their peak season, depending on location. This list is just a sampling of the flowers which will be easiest to access in each month, but most can be found all season in a variety of colors.

If you’ve ever attempted to work on the go — not necessarily for a business trip, but just because your job offers the flexibility of remote working — you may have struggled with working from your hotel room. Your options are typically plugging your laptop in next to a tiny in-room table, if you’re lucky, or you’re stuck answering emails from your hotel bed — hardly conducive to productivity.
