Make navigating through cities easier with Citymapper, the ultimate transport app. Reinventing the transport app as we know it, Citymapper is built for commuters and their daily needs.
With A to B directions humans actually use in cities, travelers navigate through a new city in no time. The app includes live/real-time routing updates every minute, the best possible route and an ETA with travel modes to include subway, bus, rail, ferry, bike/car sharing and Uber. Follow step-by-step directions, including the best subway exit to reach the platform and receive alerts when your favorite lines are disrupted. The app includes data from partners like Google, Apple, OpenStreetsMaps, Foursquare, Yelp, Uber, Hailo, Car2Go, Autolib and more.
The app, for example, provides travelers the quickest option using a combination of train, tram and bus; if you’ve already invested in a rail card, it provides train-only options. It also suggests a rain-safe option, minimizing the amount of time walking between transport options during a torrential downpour. Transit agencies include those in New York City, the San Francisco Bay Area, Boston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Chicago, Seattle, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
The London-based startup recently revealed plans to reinvent the bus, creating vehicles fit for the smart city era. Kicking off in London, Citymapper launched an experimental, pop-up circular bus route for free, with its own green, branded buses. Similar to traditional buses, vehicles follow a pre-set route with passengers jumping on and off at stops. Citymapper is working to create better mobility in cities.
