Lugging a large suitcase through the busy Manhattan streets while waiting to check into a hotel or Airbnb is not a fun experience. That’s where Knock Knock City comes in. The new service allows travelers in New York City to store their luggage at locations throughout the city for a fee.
Here’s how it works: Sign up and search for a storage host location near you. Select the number and type of bags and how long you need them stored. Once there, the host will scan your drop-off code to confirm the drop off. Seal your zippers with provided zipties to ensure your bag is secure. When you return, the host will scan the pick-up code to confirm. You’ll receive your bags back and you can go on your way.
There are currently more than 40 vetted shops in the city hosting Knock Knock City. The service costs $2 per hour and your time starts once the drop-off code is scanned. You will be charged at the end of the transaction. Knock Knock City provides complimentary $500 insurance per bag.
