Seattle-based Clipper Vacations carved out an important niche in Puget Sound travel: Tt offers private ferry service to key destinations at high speeds and great prices.
The Clipper ferries are catamaran boats designed to cut through the water at high speeds, taking passengers to destinations with ease. The boats are outfitted with comfortable seats and plenty of windows for taking in the scenery, but travel times that would normally be day-long trips are cut to mere hours.
The Clipper is easy to use and offers friendly service, both before and during boarding as well as on the boat. Employees offer tableside beverage and food service, plus there’s a small counter for ordering. Beverages and food skew local as much as possible, so you get the flavor of the place as you travel. The boats also offer free seasickness medication if you need it.
The Clipper connects key destinations otherwise not as easy or cheap to get to and from: The Seattle–Victoria route is the most popular and recognizable, but there are also trips to the San Juan Islands and various vacation packages and seasonal trips available to other islands and Puget Sound towns.
