Top 5 / Europe

The Icelandic capital of Reykjavik is known for its nightlife, especially in the summer months when the sun never sets. Get into the party spirit at some of the finest bars in the city.

Kaffibarinn

Once owned by Gorillaz co-founder Damon Albarn, this atmospheric spot regularly plays host to live music. It gets busy at happy hour, but remains a firm favorite with the indie crowd all through the night.

Kex Hostel

You don’t have to be staying at the hostel to have a drink at the bar, housed in a former biscuit factory on the seafront. A mixture of locals and travelers can be found propping up the bar, sipping on beers and taking in one of the regular performances.

Micro Bar

If you love beer, Micro Bar is the place to be. It has the widest selection of beers in Reykjavik, and huge murals by cartoonist Hugleikur Dagsson boost the cool factor — highly recommended.

Loftid

If you feel like splashing out and drinking some of the finest cocktails Reykjavik has to offer, head to Loftid. Leave your outdoor gear at home and dress to the nines, or risk being turned away at the door. It’s refined, and the door staff wants to keep it that way.

Paloma

One for the late crowd, Paloma plays host to a mixture of locals and visitors keen to party until the early hours. The fun starts early too, making this a great place to pop into and come back to later on.
