An organization of Tennessee distilleries, the Tennessee Distillers Guild launches the Tennessee Whiskey Trail, a 25-stop tour helping thirsty travelers better plan their whiskey hunting adventures in the state.

“The Tennessee Whiskey Trail is a joint effort by all of our Guild members to feature Tennessee whiskey and moonshine, as well as the craftsmen and women that make them. On the Trail, visitors can learn about the art of distilling and about the history and the culture of whiskey-making that is legendary in our state,” said Kris Tatum, president, Tennessee Distillers Guild.

Stops on the trail range from boutique distilleries to internationally recognized brands, and each gives visitors a chance to explore the culture surrounding whiskey in the state, as well as some of Tennessee’s best landmarks.

“This Trail puts an international spotlight on Tennessee and its whiskey culture. We hope to see people come from all over the world just to get a taste of this once-in-a-lifetime Tennessee whiskey experience,” added Tatum.

To officially participate in the trail, get your free passport booklet or pick one up at a distillery. Then, collect your distillery stamps on the way. Anyone who gets all 25 will receive a gift, as well as see their name listed on the trail’s website. The website also gives tips for ways to complete all 25 stops in one 10-day trip.

Some of the recognizable names you may spot on the trail include Jack Daniel’s, Southern Pride and Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine. The trail is split into three regions, so you can easily see a few at a time, depending on where you’re staying.
