The property is the first carbon-neutral hotel in Monteverde and, in 2022, achieved climate positive status. Make sure to ask about the hotel’s Offset Your Footprint program, which allows you to help offset environmental impact on the region caused by tourism and other factors.

In Turks & Caicos, Ocean Club Resorts is doing something similar to Hotel Belmar, offering guests a carbon footprint calculator that allows them to offset the eco-impact from their stays. The resort makes its own environmental efforts as well, with LED lighting and paper drink and food packaging. The property is one of the first in the Turks & Caicos to be Green Globe Certified.

United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).
