Celebrate National Tequila Day July 24 with one of these delicious tequila-based cocktails from resorts around the world.
Key Lime Margarita
Pretend you’re sitting on a beach in paradise with this refreshing margarita, crafted by Pelican Grand Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Ingredients:
- 5 ounces premium silver tequila
- 8 slices of fresh key limes or 1.5 ounces fresh key lime juice
- 1 ounce agave nectar
- ½ ounce triple sec
- Crushed graham crackers
Mix all ingredients into a shaker, stir the ingredients, then shake and strain into a traditional highball glass over ice. Lastly, lightly dust the rim with graham cracker crumbs and garnish with a fresh key lime.
Passion Fruit Margarita
Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, South Carolina, crafted a cool, refreshing drink perfect to beat the heat of summer, the Passion Fruit Margarita.
Ingredients:
- 5 ounces Milagro Silver
- ¾ ounce Chinola Passion Fruit Liqueur
- ½ ounce lime juice
- ½ ounce triple sec
- 1 bar spoon of agave syrup
Pour all the ingredients and ice into a shaker, shake well, then strain into a rocks glass with fresh ice. Rim the glass with black sea salt, a blood orange and lime wheels.
Lizzie Sipper
The Lizzie Sipper at The Brown Palace is a crowd-pleasing cocktail perfect for summer. The pink drink gives off hints of rose water, which complements the tequila.
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Patron Silver
- 1 ounce fresh watermelon puree
- ¾ ounce Brown Palace honey
- ¾ ounce fresh squeeze lime juice
- 3 drops rose water
Mix all ingredients into a shaker with ice, strain into a rocks glass over crushed ice and garnish with mint sprig.
Blue One Ocean Margarita
The Lighthouse Pointe at Grand Lucayan adds a twist to the classic margarita with its Blue One Ocean Margarita.
Ingredients:
- 2 ounces Jose Cuervo tequila
- 1 ounce Cointreau
- 1 ounce blue curacao
- Freshly squeezed lime
Combine ingredients and ice in a shaker, shake well then pour into a chilled glass and garnish with a lime wedge and salt.
