Kids around the world dream of sleeping in a house made of sweets with edible fixtures and the aroma of chocolate wafting through the vents. For €45 — roughly $51 dollars — a night, this dream can become a reality for anyone no matter what age.
Constructed in Paris by the French chocolatier Jean-Luc Decluzeau, this all-chocolate cottage can sleep four guests at a time. Everything from the walls, fireplace, roof, clocks, cups and more are all made of real chocolate. Guests can also venture out into a mock garden area that features a white chocolate pond complete with ducks and a flowerbed. The cottage has been crafted using 1.5 tons of chocolate and is encased in a large glass building to keep the temperatures regulated so the chocolate does not melt.
The renowned chocolatier welcomes guests as they arrive to give them a tour of their home away from home. He will also point out what the guests are allowed to eat and what to steer clear from. Although the entire masterpiece is made from chocolate, some things cannot be consumed or it may fall apart.
With the nightly stay, Decluzeau gives a lesson on creating art with chocolate. The class teaches guests how to construct their own miniature chalet as an edible souvenir to take home
