Allianz Partners USA recently revealed the results of its Thanksgiving Destination Index. Major U.S. cities and warm weather destinations top the Thanksgiving travel list. The results are based on data from more than 2 million travel itineraries, with flight departures from the United States Nov. 19–24 and return flights Nov. 25–29 considered. New York City and Mexico’s beaches hold the top spots.
New York City, a popular draw for Thanksgiving festivities, holds on to the top spot for domestic travel. Orlando grew in popularity over 2021, moving to third place. Washington, D.C., made an appearance in the top 10 for the first time in five years.
Mexico ranks most popular, taking up the first three spots on the international destination list. Europe holds strong with London and Paris within the top 10. Beach destinations comprise the remainder of the list.
