If you and your soon-to-be spouse are art lovers, consider planning your honeymoon to a city full of art. Cities around the world are home to expansive museums, galleries and street art, perfect for an all-day adventure or a leisurely stroll. These cities are our favorites.
Germany’s capital has a unique art scene. There are plenty of museums with focuses ranging from modern art to design and everything in between. Stroll through the Berlin Gallery District. A trip wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Berlin Wall. The East Side Gallery is a section of the wall emblazoned with works from more than 100 international artists.
While any city in Italy would be a dream destination for art lovers, we like Florence. Many masterpieces of the Renaissance period reside in Florence, including Michelangelo’s “David” and Sandro Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus.”
The Big Apple is home to some of the most impressive art museums in the world. The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, The Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum are highly popular among locals and tourists for the impressive collections.
In addition to its reputation for being a romantic destination for honeymooners, Paris boasts an impressive arts scene. The Louvre — home to Leonardo da Vinci’s “Mona Lisa” — may be the most recognizable art attraction. However, the city also has a variety of galleries and plenty of street art for you and your partner to explore.
