One of the best parts of a trip abroad is the ability to explore another culture, which includes sampling the ood and drink, but if you find yourself stuck in a culture with less-than-desirable coffee options, you may be craving a cup of the caffeine kick you’re used to back home. If you’re a caffeine fiend and just can’t do without your daily java, consider tossing a few single-serving coffee packets into your carry-on to ensure you won’t end up in a pre-coffee cranky mood.
Counter Culture is a company that sources and roasts sustainable coffee from around the world. The company also educates brewers-in-training at regional training centers and through a library of online tools and guides.
Counter Culture offers three varieties of single-serve coffee packets that can travel with you in case you end up in a coffee desert. Contained in biodegradable pouches made from renewable and compostable material, the single-serve packets are available for purchase in three flavors. Each flavor lists a roast level from 0 (dark) to 100 (light). Big Trouble has caramel, nut and chocolate notes and a roast level of 63; Forty-Six is smoky and full-bodied, with dark chocolate notes and a roast level of 52; and Slow Motion is smooth with notes of molasses and cocoa, and has a roast level of 58.
Five-packs of the coffee cost $9.99 and 10-packs cost $19.99.
