BonAppetour allows you to explore home dining with hosts offering one-of-a-kind experiences all over the world. The process is as simple as connecting with your host to decide on a time to meet and pay for your share of the meal via the site’s secure service. Then, hang out with your host plus their family and friends, and enjoy local eats in a truly local environment, no touristy gimmicks allowed.
Anyone can become a host once approved by BonAppetour. Potential hosts post images online of dishes they’re most proud of and set dinner menus to tempt hungry travelers. Guests place reservation inquiries about a week in advance and hosts cover all the bases, including dietary restrictions and other special requests. After receiving payment, hosts go to work, creating the perfect dinner party atmosphere. Afterwards, guests give ratings based on the quality of the environment and food served.
Currently, BonAppetour operates in only a handful of U.S. cities, including Asheville, N.C.; Boulder, Colo.; Chicago; Houston; Los Angeles; San Francisco; Seattle; and Washington, D.C. International destinations vary. Travelers will find only a few host cities in South America and Africa, in Argentina, Brazil, Kenya and South Africa. BonAppetour is much more popular in Asia and Europe, however, with hosts in 39 European destinations (with Italy being the big hit) and 20 Asian destinations.
