Dubai is one of the most expensive cities in the world, but that doesn’t mean you have to be a millionaire to visit. Keep these travel tips in mind while planning your trip to Dubai.

Getting There

Dubai is a major transportation hub for connecting flights all over the world, so it is easy to find cheap flights. Use flight search engines like Skyscanner and search by entire month to find the cheapest deal possible.

Getting Around

There are a few ways to get around in Dubai: the Metro, taxis, renting a car or the bus. A NOL card for the metro is your best option; it costs $5.50 and comes with $4 extra credit. The metro is convenient to go to the main tourist sites, so if you want to go anywhere else get as close as possible by metro and take a taxi from there.

Rental Cars is a search engine that will help you find the best deals for car rentals in any city. Gas is cheap, and there are a ton of interesting things to do outside of Dubai, which are only accessible by car.

Public Bus line No. 8 is the most convenient line. It goes parallel to the metro and passes interesting places like Souq Madinat, Burj Al Arab and Kite Beach.

Where to Stay

When planning where to stay in Dubai, there are a few options for budget-friendly accommodations. You can find nice, cost-friendly places through Airbnb. Dubai has a thriving real estate market and there are plenty of gorgeous apartments there.
