El Mural de los Poblanos Restaurant offers a large variety of traditional Mexican cuisine, but the true selling point of this local gem is the delicious mole. The food Puebla is known for is offered in a buffet of options, each seemingly better than the next. The vibrant atmosphere in combination with some of the most delicious food in the region makes it a must for anyone visiting the city.
The restaurant itself is colorfully decked out in a modern decor, with a bright mural on the wall to entertain diners waiting on a meal. It’s the perfect mixture of class and fun. The atmosphere here can get pretty jovial throughout the day, though evening meals tend to be more laid-back.
The wait staff is top-notch, and will patiently explain each of the different mole options available, or happily point you in the direction of another dish. I highly recommend diving into the mole poblano. That is what the restaurant is famous for, after all. The drink options are delightfully strong, as well. Though I was too stuffed each visit to sample the desserts, they looked absolutely divine.
During my week-long stay in Puebla I actually had the pleasure of visiting the restaurant three separate times, and look forward to returning in the future. I’d easily give El Mural de los Poblanos Restaurant a five out of five stars.
