Briefcase or backpack — it’s often a difficult choice for travelers. Most airlines allow only one carry-on, so bringing both is not an option. For those in the business world, giving up a briefcase can cause harm to potential meetings with clients, while leaving the backpack at home sacrifices comfort and accessibility. However, briefcase manufacturer Le Trav developed a new piece of luggage that is the best of both worlds with their line of convertible cases.
The Maxwell ($459) begins as a briefcase made of full black grain leather. The 12-inch by 16-inch by 5.5-inch design unzips and can be turned inside out, morphing into a handy backpack. It is designed in such a way in which all of the zippers and compartments can be accessed no matter which way it is converted. The backpack/briefcase interior is available in blue, red and grey.
The Ethan ($845), while more expensive, offers a higher-quality product. The larger 13.25 inch by 17.5 inch by 5 inch, like its counterpart, is made of full grain leather, however this version comes with additional features like heavy-duty coil zippers and a quality buckle latch.
