Stay fit on the go with this exercise equipment that easily stows away in your carry-on. With a variety of brands and budgets to choose from, these are clear winners.

Jump Ropes

You may have fond memories of jumping rope as a kid, but have you picked one up in the last five or 10 years? It’s not as easy as you remember. Get a weighted jump rope and feel the burn as you combine resistance training with cardio.

Resistance Bands

Speaking of resistance, these bands can be added to any carry-on, no matter the size. You can even fit one in your purse if need be. They add a new level of sweat to your routine, whether you’re doing simple stretches, squats or even yoga. Search for resistance band routines on YouTube if you need a little guidance getting started.

Yoga Mats

Don’t underestimate the power of yoga. Once you start bending the right way, you’ll never second-guess all the benefits it can have on your body and your workout routine. While many yoga mats roll up into a less-than-minimal size, you can buy folding yoga mats that reduce to the size of a clothing item if folded the right way. You’ll never have an excuse to skip your sun salutations again. Still don’t want to pack a mat? Non-skid yoga socks and yoga gloves are a good alternative, eliminating the need for a mat in a pinch.

Exercise Balls

If you’ve been using a blow-up exercise ball recently, don’t feel like you have to leave it at home just because it’s bulky. Deflate it, fold it and throw it in your bag, along with a small hand pump. It can be great for core exercises right in the comfort of your hotel room.

Portable Kettle Bell

While you probably don’t want to lug your 25-pound kettle bell in your carry-on, a portable, fillable version can be a doable alternative. These varieties can be filled with a water bladder for your preferred weight and easy packing.
