Fiji, the small nation in the Pacific, is known for its gorgeous vistas and abundant nature. The islands have a number of national parks worth visiting.
The Fiji government designates five parks as regions of intense national beauty.
Sigatoka Sandunes National Park, on Viti Levu, is a four-mile stretch of sandy dunes. The park offers several trails for visitors to explore, as well as a comprehensive visitors center, which educates and offers explanations to visitors.
If sandy dunes and dessert environments are not really your style, Colo-i-Suva Forest Reserve on Viti Levu is a miniature rainforest for your exploratory pleasure. Waterfalls, vegetation and local wildlife make this park a must-visit for tourists to the island.
Bouma National Park on the Northern Islands offers several day hikes and trails to visit the beauty of the island. One of the trails even takes tourists in proximity of rare wildflowers that only grow between September and December.
Looking back toward Viti Levu and inland, there is the Nausori Highlands. These rolling hills, rivers and volcanic peaks offer views to tourists.
The Lovoni Trail, on the Lomaiviti Group of islands, is perfect for a mountainous trek with beautiful scenery.
The nation of Fiji is known for its natural beauty, so, on your next trip, make an effort to take to these trails and see the sights.
