It was my roommate’s birthday today and, being the broke college student that I am, I tried to think of something cute but affordable to get her. As I sat in my dorm scrolling through Instagram, I was thinking about what to get her.
I saw a post about Dia Doce. If you are a fan of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars then you know exactly what I’m talking about. But for those of you who don’t know what Cupcake Wars is, let me explain. Cupcake Wars is a lot like the other competitive food TV shows except with bakers. Dia Doce won on the show, it was No. 1 on the Philly Hotlist and voted Best of the Main Line. The cupcakes are freshly baked every morning with locally sourced ingredients.
Every week the cupcake flavors change; this week’s were Truffle, Chocolate Marshmallow, Lemon Creme Pie, Milk n’ Cookies, Cinnacake and Molten. Choosing which ones to get was extremely difficult, but I knew they would all be delicious.
After surprising her with four decadent cupcakes, her face was indescribable. She devoured them before the end of the night. Dia Doce is located in West Chester, Pa., and is one place you don’t want to miss.
