Furthermore, the app has a database of more than 2 million points of interest all built into the phone so an Internet connection is not required and little battery is wasted, perfect for travelers in a remote location with no service.

While using the app in an urban environment has little use (it will tell you to walk through city blocks), it can be invaluable for outdoorsman, hunters, backpackers and fisherman, whether you want to remember a fishing spot or just want to map out the day’s hiking trail. The app can even measure your walking speed and send coordinates via text message.
