A bad night of sleep can be a real gamechanger for the day ahead. The best way to sleep well on a regular basis is to develop healthy sleep habits. These may just simply adjust your already healthy routine or shed some serious light on why sleep may not come as easily as it should.

First off, technology is one of the worst offenders of disrupting sleep. It is so easy to scroll through our phones until we doze off, but the light coming from your device is doing more damage than you think. Sleeping and scrolling may seem all right, but it will never allow for sleep to be as deep and revitalizing as it could be and it is a simple fix. Waking up refreshed to a longer news feed is better than passing out with strained eyes.

Daily exercise has more benefits than we can mention here, but one of them is a better night of rest. Exercising at some point in the day gives the body and mind a jolt of natural endorphins. The burst of energy during the day after exercise allows for a more restful, and needed, sleep that night.

The Bamboo Pillow came on the market as a save-all for sleep and there is some truth to it. There are many varieties of this memory-foam, fiber pillow now, but the original contained shredded bamboo fibers and was claimed to fight off mites and germs. Most variations of the Bamboo Pillow make the same claims, so choose the best for you and remember they are all machine washable. Some varieties contain essence of lavender and have been credited with better sleep results.

There are a lot of gimmicks and quick tricks for better sleep, but the most effective are the simple steps we take for granted. Steer clear of light at night, exercise during the day and keep a clean area on and around the bed.
