Since the holidays are a time for giving that also means you are on the receiving end as well. After the holidays pass, everything always feels cluttered and you might not have space to put all your new gifts. Follow these helpful tips as a way to create space and declutter after the holidays.
If you got a lot of new clothes for the holidays and now feel like you have way too many clothes, try decluttering the closet. Think of the motto “out with the old in with the new.” Go through your old clothes and see if there are things you don’t want anymore. If you haven’t worn it within two–three months, maybe it‘s time to get rid of it. Another way to declutter your clothes is to get rid of one article of clothing for every new one you got.
If you feel like it is the rest of the house that is cluttered then try to go through and look for things you haven’t really used. Sometimes you don’t need something but just hold on to it because you’ve had it so long. These things are hard to get rid of but you have to remember all the usage you got out of it.
Don’t try to declutter all at once; it might get overwhelming. Take your time and do it little by little each day.
