Restaurant

Pizza may be one of the few foods you can find all over the world, but not many places do it as well as L’Apero.

The restaurant is housed in a large, open space in the city’s rapidly gentrifying Zone 4, and caters to the young creatives who now live and work where less salubrious characters roamed just a few short years ago. The clientele wouldn’t look out of place in Williamsburg or Hackney, and L’Apero has become something of a place to be seen.

Whether that has more to do with the fact that diners are highly visible from the street than the pizza is up for debate, but it must be said the pizza alone is worthy of merit. Thin-crust, crunchy with a wide variety of imaginative topping combinations, the chefs at L’Apero know their stuff.

Freshly made and baked before your eyes, the pizzas are simply a delight to eat. While the Roqueta and Toscana come with prosciutto to satisfy the carnivores, vegetarians can get their fix with the Perazul (salted pears, Swiss cheese, cream and blue cheese) or the Chivita (cream, Swiss cheese, goat’s cheese, honey and rosemary).

Prices for whole pizzas range from $7 to $10.50, and you can accompany your pizza with a local brew for $2.50 or a Brooklyn beer for $3.50. Service is fast and efficient, and L’Apero gets top marks.
