Make your next canoe trip easier than ever and get on the water a little bit faster, too, with the new MyCanoe POP.
Created by MyCanoe, POP is a two-person canoe that weighs 52 pounds and extends 14 feet in length, but can be folded up to fit easily in a closet or the back of any car, and then set up in as little as five minutes. The POP has built-in keels on the bow and stern (providing more stability for newbies) and is designed to easily go from land to water in as little time as possible. It’s made from custom polypropylene and UV treated, and is sturdy enough to not only leisurely paddle on calm waters, but also take on choppy waves. If desired, the POP can be outfitted with a trolling motor for fishing, and it comes with interior storage for equipment and gear. Additionally, when folded, POP can be checked as luggage for a flight.
Paul Jin, founder, MyCanoe, explained how he came up with the idea for POP during a canoe trip. “After getting our canoe out of storage, cleaning it up, getting it mounted on the car roof, then dealing with rattling straps and having to be extra cautious on highways, we were stressed out by the time we got to our destination. Then there was the unload. Then doing it all over again on the way home. Needless to say, we spent most of the car ride home talking about how to build a better canoe — one that fits our modern lifestyles and doesn’t sacrifice quality and durability.”
MyCanoe POP can be purchased starting at $850.
