Patagonia’s Black Hole Duffel Bag

When the term “black hole” comes to mind, it is typically not synonymous with anything positive, but this is not the case with a style of duffel bag produced by outdoor adventure company Patagonia.

Patagonia’s Black Hole duffel bag has a capacity of nearly 16 gallons (60 liters), making it one of the company’s largest handheld bags. Constructed with waterproof TPU laminate and finished with a durable, water-repellent layer, the padded duffel holds more than enough for a weekend away or just enough for a long weekend or week-long trip. The central compartment is accessible by a zippered U-shape flap and is joined by a zippered side pocket and a mesh pocket in the flap of the central pocket. When it’s completely empty, the bag weights 2 pounds, 6 ounces, and the bottom of the bag is reinforced with padding to protect what’s inside.

Carrying the bag comes with its own set of options: Use the removable padded shoulder straps or grasp the webbed handles that join together and close via a snap in the center.

Patagonia’s Black Hole duffel bag can be purchased on Patagonia’s website or in select stores for $110, and comes in varying color combinations such as solid black, navy blue with red accents, Paintbrush Red, Dolomite Blue, Hex Gray, Ikat Purple and Tidal Teal.
