Obtaining a passport is a lengthy and agitating process. Submitting documents, playing the waiting game and then finally picking it up only to find that in 10 years, you may have to do the same thing all over again. Thankfully, a new app is up and running that will allow you to renew your passport with the click of a button on your mobile phone.
Currently only available for iOS devices, ItsEasy is a government-approved mobile app that allows you to take a new passport photo and process your passport application using your iPhone. Once your passport renewal application is in progress, you can use the app to snap a new photo, and then attach it to you current application file through the app. If this is your first passport application, the app will collect your information and send the photos to you by mail in the standard 2-inch-by-2-inch passport size, for a small shipping fee of $5.95.
Renewing travelers can simply submit their photos using the app and wait for their new passport to be ready. Although the app is free to download for iPhones, there is a service fee of $89, which is not part of the Department of State fee of $170. For travelers who are short on time, the app can guarantee a rush order: For $269 (in addition to the aforementioned government fee), your photos will be ready in one to three days.
Rather than experience the headache that comes with passport renewal, ItsEasy makes the process simple and direct.
