Scams Around Disney World

Safety

Disney is known as a magical place for friends and families, young and old, to spend a unique vacation. However, many dishonest people take advantage of this destination and try to scheme guests out of their money.

Pizza Menu Trick

At many of the hotels around Disney World, guests will find menus to what they believe are local pizza establishments. They will call and order food for delivery, reciting their credit card numbers, only to find out later there is no pizza restaurant and their information has been stolen.

Ticket Scams

Disney often sells seven-day tickets, when some people are only able to take five-day vacations. It is common for the original holder of these tickets to sell the tickets online after use so someone else can take advantage of the remaining days. However, many sell tickets, claiming to have additional days when they do not. To avoid this issue, ask the seller for the ticket number and contact a Disney representative to confirm the tickets are still valid.

Low Price Offers

Disney World for most of its existence has been very protective of its brand and consistency. For this reason, they almost never provide discounts on hotels and tickets, and restrict vendors from discounting. If you find cheap Disney tickets or hotel packages online, they are most likely fake.
