The awning is more of an awning/tent combination that provides extra coverage that attaches to your car. Basically, the half-dome design of the tent offers you a place to stretch out on the sleeping bag while the awning gives you a little bit of shaded outdoor space while also protecting you from rain. In addition, the tent itself folds up on the dome side so you can retain excellent views of your surroundings during the day.
The SheltaPod has five attachment methods in all for varying amounts of cover. The two-in-one awning fits almost every vehicle and is so easy to set up one person can do it alone. It’s a great piece of equipment for travelers who spend a lot of time in cars or those who just hate staying in hotels.
