When organizing essentials for a packing trip, it’s all about saving space and ensuring convenience. Multi-purpose tools and accessories are a camper’s best friend, especially if they’re small and can fit into a day pack. To avoid having to pack a flashlight and a lantern, Suaoki sells a combination product that serves two lighting needs when out in the darkness of the woods.
Suaoki’s camping lantern expands to take the shape of a traditional camping lantern and, when compressed to approximately half its size in the shape of a hockey puck, it serves as a standard flashlight. When light is not needed, the lantern can be shut off and stowed away in a backpack or latched onto a bag’s handle via the convenient carrying ring.
When expanded, the lantern measures 3.35 inches by 3.35 inches by 4.72 inches, and when compressed the height decreases to 1.97 inches, weighing 4.2 ounces.
The lantern requires three AA batteries to last anywhere from 50 hours to 100 hours of light (depending on the level of brightness emitted), potentially eliminating the need to tote around extra sets of batteries.
The environmentally focused technology company specializes in affordable, eco-friendly devices that serve multiple needs. Campers can purchase the lantern on Suaoki’s website for a discounted price of $18.99 (normally $24.99) or on Amazon.com for as low as $9.99.
