Restaurant

Having eaten at The Palm’s location in Philadelphia, I was excited to experience their new establishment in Beverly Hills, a relocation from its former home on Santa Monica Boulevard.

Diners will appreciate the redesigned interior, which features high ceilings and exposed beams over a large main dining room. None of the cartoons from the West Hollywood location made the move over, but the walls have been filled with a large mural of Los Angeles, which will gradually be filled with new drawings thanks to the large celebrity presence.

Like all of its locations, The Palm features fresh, sustainable seafood and classic Italian dishes like veal martini, but the real draw of this restaurant are the steaks. Having had The Palm’s filet a few times, I decided to go with a New York strip topped with chimichurri sauce. Unfortunately, I wasn’t that impressed by the flavor of the dish. While the steak was cooked to the desired medium well, I think the flavor of the chimichurri was a little off and did not pair well with the strip.

While the food might have been a one-off experience, I did enjoy the overall dining experience. The open dining room had a lively atmosphere and there were even a few celebrities to be spotted, so a return visit isn’t out of the question.
