Restaurant

It’s tough finding a restaurant that manages to feel cozy but not cramped, delivers quality customer service and doesn’t break the bank. Luckily, Toronto’s Insomnia delivers. Located in the hip and busy Bloor neighborhood, all the meals at Insomnia are delicious — but brunch is a special treat.

Insomnia’s a well-known spot throughout the city, so get in early and expect a 20- to 30-minute wait. The tables in the back have comfy couches accompanying them, so try to snag one. Even if you’re not a regular java drinker, don’t skip the coffee. It’s infused with cinnamon, which tastes spectacular, and refills are free. At $7 a pop, the mimosas won’t break the wallet and the bartenders don’t skimp on the alcohol.

The citrus-spiked French toast is a must-have and the grilled cheese, which is on challah bread and features two types of cheese and pear, feels like a grown-up version of the childhood classic. Definitely order a side of home fries. I’m not sure what is in the sauce these are smothered in, but it’s a guarantee that you will. love. these.

Next time you’re in Bloor, pop by Insomnia for a tasty meal and good drinks for a reasonable price.
