Preservation Hall is a music venue located in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Established in 1961, the venue aims to preserve, perpetuate and protect traditional New Orleans-style jazz.
Preservation Hall hosts shows at 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., Monday–Wednesday and 6 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m. and 10 p.m., Thursday–Sunday. Expect to see a variety of different jazz acts perform. The Preservation Hall Jazz Band performs here and around the world.
There are two types of admission available. For general admission, line up in front of the venue ahead of the show you wish to attend. These tickets are first-come-first-serve. It’s recommended you arrive about 30 minutes prior to the show. Tickets are cash only and cost $15, Sunday–Thursday, and $20 on Friday and Saturday, with the exception of special events. If you prefer to plan ahead of time, reserve a “big shot” seat. A limited amount of reserved seating is available for purchase before the show. The seat guarantees you receive a seat and allows you to skip the line. These tickets cost $35–50, with the exception of special events. No photography or filming is permitted during performances.
