The South American country of Argentina is home to many cultural and natural UNESCO World Heritage sites. Add these spots to your list for your next visit.

Cultural

  • Cueva de las Manos, Río Pinturas: This site offers an extensive collection of cave art completed 9,500–13,000 years ago. There are outlines of human hands, depictions of animals and hunting scenes.
  • Jesuit Block and Estancias of Córdoba: This section houses several important Jesuit buildings, including a university, church and residence of the Society of Jesus. There are also farming estates, or estancias, on the site. The collection demonstrates the religious, economic and social importance on Argentina.
  • Qhapaq Ñan, Andean Road System: This site is part of an extensive collection of roads covering more than 18,000 miles through six countries. The road served as a network for trade and defense purposes.

Natural

  • Iguazú National Park: Home to the famous Iguazú Falls, the national park is situated on the border of Argentina and Brazil.
  • Los Glaciares National Park: The oldest designated site on this list, the park boasts diverse natural beauty including rugged mountains and several glacial lakes.
  • Península Valdés: Located in Patagonia, this site is important for its marine animal conservation. Endangered mammals, including species of whales, sea lions and seals, mate here.
