Agogo Apps recently introduced Veggoagogo, a translation travel app for vegetarian travelers. Designed to aid vegetarians ordering food on the road, the app addresses problems faced by the traveling vegetarian including locating a restaurant, ordering suitable items from the menu and even thanking the chef or waiter.
The intuitive app requires no Internet connectivity. On the app interface, the user chooses a pre-written question (Can you please show me which items on your menu contain no meat?), then selects a target language and taps the translate button.
“Often when traveling abroad it’s hard to get across exactly what a vegetarian will and will not eat. In many countries it’s a loosely defined concept where vegetarian dishes may still include fish or seafood,” said Paul Dodson, founder, Agogo Apps. “With Veggoagogo we aimed to do two things: one, to define very clearly what a vegetarian won’t eat and two, to offer a range of questions that traveling vegetarians face on a daily basis.”
Veggoagogo is available in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Some of the 50 translation languages within the app include German, Hebrew, Icelandic, Korean, Mongolian, Nepali, Norwegian, Pakistani, Polish, Tagalog, Thai and Vietnamese.
The app is available for purchase on iTunes or Google Play.
