A travel agency in Japan’s beautiful city of Kyoto launched bridal ceremonies for single women who want the full wedding day experience without actually having to get hitched.
Cerca Travel’s two-day Solo Wedding package includes many of the same experiences of a traditional wedding, including choosing your own special gown, bouquet and hairstyle; receiving limousine service; enjoying overnight accommodations in a hotel; and receiving a commemorative photo album from a professional photographer.
On the first day, women choose between wearing a traditional Japanese gown or a white wedding dress during a personal consultation session. Guests then visit a bridal shop to select their dress.
Day two begins with a hair and make-up session before the dress fitting. A photographer captures all the special moments as women prepare for the official photo shoot in the stunning Japanese garden of Shugakuin Kirara Sanso.
Optional amenities include a man for an image partner during the photo shoot, extra flowers or a partner to have dinner with on the first night.
Approximately 30 women from across Japan enjoyed the experience of being a solo bride since the service launched in May of last year. According to Cerca Travel, about half of the women were married and did not have the traditional wedding experience or were not satisfied with that experience and wanted to create a new wedding memory.
Prices for the Solo Wedding experience start from approximately $2,542.
