Personal finance website WalletHub recently announced the results of its Happiest Cities in America study for 2025. These cities were found to have the best conditions for mental and physical wellbeing for residents.
California is the happiest state overall, with an impressive seven cities in the top 20, including the top three spots. Top 20 city Honolulu, Hawai’i, ranked No. 2 for lowest depression rate. Another city in the top 20, South Burlington, Vermont, took the top spot for adequate sleep. On the other end, Cleveland, Ohio; Detroit, Michigan; Memphis, Tennessee; Fort Smith, Arkansas; and Gulfport, Mississippi, ranked at the bottom of the list.
