Winvian Farms, a farm-resort located in Morris, Conn., combines a passion for fresh food with a luxury retreat. Inspired by the beautiful 1790s farm building, executive chef Chris Eddy and proprietor Margaret Smith created Winvian Farms and an earth-to-table menu of homegrown food.
Winvian Farms is the ideal retreat for conscious foodies. It is an inclusive cooking experience — guests help pick produce and prep meals with Chef Eddy and learn the basics of sustainable cooking. Delectable menu items change daily to reflect the seasons.
The farm’s three acres of vegetable and fruit gardens and four greenhouses provide 70 percent of the produce served in the restaurant for seven months each year. Other products are locally sourced and sustainably delivered. There is also an extensive selection of biodynamic wines.
There are 18 individually designed cottages, a 5,000-square-foot spa, an events barn, a professional kitchen for private cooking classes and a swimming pool for guess to enjoy. This luxurious cottage experience is unlike any other vacation. Winvian Farms allows guests to escape from city life and return to nature while learning the skills they need to make conscious cuisine.
Nightly rates range from $459–1,375 depending on the season and the cottage requested. Visit Winivan Farms’ website to book a stay or make a dining reservation.
