Alchema’s built-in weight sensor on the app allows you to view the ingredients and how much of them you’ve added. Unlike other home brewing methods, Alchema uses a medical UV-C LED light that is food safe, an air pressure sensor and an auto-release valve for safety. There’s even a custom alcohol level calculation available in the app. The LED light and sensors monitor the critical fermentation process, notifying you when your custom brew is complete. When your batch is ready, the pitcher’s lid filters the leftover fruit residuals, making it an easy process.
You can choose a cider recipe from Alchema’s online community or create your own, crafting your brew’s sweetness and alcohol content with the app. Alechema, available fall 2017, is free to download and compatible with both iOS and Android.
