Whether you just enjoy listening to music or podcasts as you fall to asleep at night or you’re in a ridiculously loud hotel or hostel, SleepPhones headband headphones offer a pleasant respite from either bulky over-ear headphones or ear buds that wake you up screaming if you roll over on them and find them getting jammed down your sensitive inner ear.
And of course, you’re not limited to podcasts or music; many listen to meditation programming or white noise when trying to sleep in less-than-ideal conditions.
SleepPhones are neither in-ear or over-ear options but something quite unique. They are not headphones in the traditional sense as much as they are thin speakers sewn into a headband, but, like traditional headphones, they have a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. That’s about where the similarities with other headphones stop.
SleepPhones come in two models — a pink leopard print with something the company calls “Breeze Fabric” so your head doesn’t get too hot; and a gray model in fleece to keep you warm.
Another nice feature is you can listen to your chosen audio and also pull the band down to double as an eye mask for even sounder sleeping.
The standard-corded models begin at $39.99. with a new Bluetooth cordless option offered at $99.99.
Additionally, the company has recently shown a charitable streak and has donated a pair of SleepPhones to a cancer center for every pair ordered.
